Technical Team
This is our technical team. We are currently volunteering from around the globe for the goal that the Young Afghan Women's Movement envisions.

Husna Jalal
Husna Jalal is a women’s rights activist and the founder of the Young Afghan Women Movement in Afghanistan. Husna has worked tremendously for civil and political rights especially for the promotion of the political rights of Afghan women. She has a B.A. Honours in Political Science and Sociology from Jamia Millia Islamia University in India. She has published many articles on relevant issues of Afghanistan nationally and internationally. Husna Jalal is the associate founder of Freedom Message Newspaper and a board member of the Afghan Women Empowerment and Capacity Building Center (AWECBS). Her leadership and work were recognized and appreciated by the 5th World Women Leadership Congress & Award by the “Women Super Achiever” award in 2018, India. After the fall of Kabul in August 2021, Ms. Jalal was forced to go into exile.

Hameeda Syed
Hameeda Syed is the co-founder of Dignity in Difference, a youth-led project aiming to address online hate speech in South Asia through rigorous documentation and advocacy. She is currently pursuing her postgraduation in Conflict Analysis and Peacebuilding from Jamia Millia Islamia in New Delhi. She has worked as a journalist in Kashmir and the capital for two years, covering the intersections of conflict, mental health, and sociopolitical topics. She co-headed a two-month Mental Health Initiative for Kashmiri youth online, with the aim of creating virtual safe spaces for peer encouragement and dissemination of psychoeducation. She works part-time as a Content Coordinator with the Jalal Foundation, an Afghanistan-based NGO, aiming for the transformation of conflict through inclusive dialogue and women-led participation in peace processes.

Clara Isabel G. P.
Clara Isabel Girón Pacheco (she/ her) is a recent postgraduate of Gender, Peace and Security at the London School of Economics and Political Science. She has a background in International Relations, European, Security and Gender studies. At this time, Clara is one of the team members of the feminist media outlet THIS IS GENDERED. She contributes to the social media team, writes and edits entries. She is particularly interested in analysing the complicated dynamics of gender, peace and security. She wishes to continue her research in this field and pursue a PhD.

Ummul B. Hyder
Ummul Baneen Hyder is a Research Scholar at the Department of Political Science, University of Delhi. Her specialisations is global justice with specific reference to gender. She has a B.A. Honors in Political Science and Economic from Jamia Millia Islamia. She is deeply inclined to gain knowledge of social sciences which deals with the system of governance, the analysis, interpretation of political behaviour and thought. Her goal is to understand better and thus serve the social setup by gaining interdisciplinary perspective important to understand both political and economic issues pertaining to society and economy
